SCH Recalls a Toffee Product From the Markets
The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has announced that it recalled a European-originated toffee product from the market because its label contained phrases like “Rum Flavors” and “Liquorice Flavor”, which made some consumers think that the product contained illegal substances.
SCH has pointed out that the product came in a food shipment imported by Supreme International. Samples of the product were sent to the laboratory to be tested. The results showed that the product was in compliance with the specifications, good, and safe for human consumption. Yet, SCH, in collaboration with the concerned company, recalled the product from the markets on account of its understanding of the confusion which the product’s unclear label may cause to the consumers.
SCH has called on the citizens and residents to report any observation on the food products in the market to it and to refer to it for any relevant inquiry.
